A BUILDING expert who drove while more than twice the legal alcohol limit was banned from the road for 18 months.
Sean Horsley (32) was caught by police on Perth’s Dunkeld Road at 1am on September 6 after officers received a tip-off that he had been drinking at a beer festival.
At Perth Sheriff Court yesterday, Horsley’s solicitor David Holmes said his client had attended the event and consumed booze that was “stronger than he was used to”.
The defence agent said self-employed construction contract designer Horsley had been on his way to fill his car with petrol ahead of a trip to Edinburgh the next day.
Horsley, of James Street, Stanley, admitted driving with 84 microgrammes (mics) of alcohol on his breath – the legal limit is 35mics.
Sheriff William Gilchrist fined him £400 and imposed an 18-month disqualification.
