Driver seriously hurt in road sign collision

TAYSIDE Police are continuing their inquiries into an A90 crash near Longforgan which was discovered at about 8.20am on Saturday.

A red Alfa Romeo was found just off the Dundee to Perth dual carriageway. The vehicle, which had been travelling westwards towards Perth, had collided with a road sign and landed in some trees, adjacent to the south verge.

The 28-year-old male driver, who was unaccompanied, was found to be seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, where he is receiving treatment.

The exact time of the collision is unknown – however it is believed to have taken place between midnight and the time of discovery.

The details of the injured driver are being withheld until relatives have been informed.
