THE Carse SNP branch met in Inchture Village Hall on November 12, with members discussing several items of particular interest to the Carse of Gowrie.
Councillor John Hulbert gave members a résumé of council activities ranging through new schools (now provided for over 25% of Perthshire schoolchildren), the pending Intercontinental Rally challenge and the Perth 800 celebrations scheduled for 2010, which will help boost the tourism economy in Perthshire.
Members also discussed the contentious incinerator proposals, Scottish Enterprise activities, the funding of affordable housing and links with the Churches Action for The Homeless (CATH).
The next meeting of the Westminster Campaign Committee will be at 9 York Place, Perth, on Sunday, November 29, starting at 4pm (this later start will allow canvassing in Perth).
Branch members should note that the constituency association will meet at 7.30pm. on Thursday, November 19, also in the York Place office.
The branch allocation of St Andrew’s Day draw tickets have all been sold, although some are still available at HQ, where the draw will take place on Thursday, November 26.
