AN Interschool Sport Wikispace has been introduced in every Perth and Kinross Council secondary school.
Launched by the Active Schools’ Co-ordinators in each establishment, the webpage contains information relating to secondary interschool sport. It houses a calendar of sporting events as well as school sport league draws and league tables.
The wikispace was developed by the council’s School Sport Development Officer, to promote and respond to requests for single point of contact for information about interschool sport.
The wikispace allows pupils, staff, parents and members of the community to find out about the school sporting opportunities which are available to young people in Perth and Kinross. It also allows secondary schools to showcase their participation and success in interschool sport. The site is accessible world wide and can be easily found through a link on most secondary school websites or at www.pkinter-schoolsport.wikispaces.com
Lifelong Learning convener, Councillor Liz Grant, said: “The Interschool Sport Wikispace is a very effective way of finding out about sporting contests between local schools. The demand for its development demonstrates our schools’ commitment to encouraging young people to get involved in sports and physical activity and promoting healthy lifestyles.”
