MULTI-MILLION pound plans for a retirement complex have been unveiled.
Glasgow-based Talisker Properties Ltd applied to Perth and Kinross Council for permission to build 47 retirement flats on landscaped ground at the Green Hotel in Kinross.
A planning statement submitted by Talisker’s agents reveals that, , following initial discussions about the project in 2007, the proposals were put on ice last year due to uncertainty created by the credit crunch.
“The developer who was driving the project withdrew in light of the economic climate which was beginning to prevail and progress on the project was halted,” the document states.
“Confidence now appears to be increasing to the point where the project can be taken forward.”
Talisker’s plans show the complex would take the form of a single L-shaped building of two-and-a-half storeys.
It would stand around 120 metres north of the Green Hotel, with new access being created off The Muirs.
Besides the flats, the building would have residents’ lounges, a guest bedroom, communal kitchen and a laundry.
The removal of some trees is being proposed by arboricultural consultants. However, Talisker has insisted that mature trees would be retained to help screen the proposed development from adjacent homes.
The application is due to be considered by councillors in January.
