IF you are in the mood to get festive, there are a variety of events on this weekend to ignite that Christmas buzz.
Here is a taster of some of the activities on offer.
Crieff will be ablaze with festive lights tomorrow afternoon when the annual Christmas light switch-on.
Fun will take place in James Square from 2pm, with live music from Gringo and fun fair rides.
At 2.15pm and 3.30pm, Crieff Drama Group will be entertaining the crowds with two performances of their mini-pantomime Tam Lin. Each show will take place in the Scout Hall in King Street. At 2.45pm, the Turleum Twirlstars Majorette Group will show off their routines in the Square, followed by music from the popular Strathearn Singers at 3pm and after the arrival of Santa at 4pm.
Morrison's Academy Pipe Band will continue the musical entertainment at 4.15pm, leading up to the climax of the event, the big switch-on, at 4.30pm. For the first time the event will be transmitted live on Perth FM, with the broadcast set to begin at 3.40pm.
This evening (Friday), Crieff Primary is holding its annual Christmas Fayre from 6pm to 8pm in the Commissioner Street school. There will be plenty of stalls and Santa will be in attendance to add a touch of magic for the younger visitors. Entry £2 adults, children free.
Comrie Primary School PTA are holding a coffee morning and Centenary Christmas Fayre tomorrowbetween 10am and noon at the school.
Pupils have been hard at work making crafts to sell. As well as the usual bottle stall and cake and candy stall, many businesses will be going to sell their own products. These include Phoenix Cards, Avon, toys, books and candles.
In addition to the Christmas lights official switch-on tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon, the Turleum Twirlstars are holding a Christmas shopping night in the St Andrew’s Halls, Strathearn Terrace, from 7-9pm tomorrow evening.
So, there’s a huge feast of festive fun lined up for everyone..
