A PERTHSHIRE politician has expressed his delight following the news that transport operator Stagecoach have agreed to make changes to their bus service in Crieff.
A new stop is to be created on the town’s Pittenzie Street after months of lobbying by the Ochil and South Perthshire MP on behalf of elderly and disabled residents in Glenearn Court.
In a recent letter to Mr Banks, Steve Walker – Stagecoach’s operations director – stated: “We will be making changes to the Perth network in early 2010, so we will ensure a suitable journey is diverted at this point.”
Mr Banks said: “This is fantastic news for residents in the Pittenzie Street area, especially for many of those staying in Glenearn Court who find the trip up to the High Street very challenging.
“Many of the elderly residents that I spoke to felt trapped in the area and that a new bus route will make a huge difference to their lives.”
