A 42-YEAR-OLD Perth man has denied being involved in a six-hour stand-off with police following an incident in the Letham area of the city in the early hours of the morning.
Stuart Atholl McLeod, whose address was given as c/o Robertson, Ballantine Place, was freed on bail by Sheriff Michael Fletcher but the Crown immediately lodged an appeal against that decision.
McLeod has now been remanded in custody until the bail issue is decided by the High Court.
He denied that on November 28, he entered a house in Newhouse Road uninvited, shouted and swore and struck a lampshade with his hand, damaging it.
It is then alleged that he prevented Marilyn McKenzie from entering the property to remove a young child who was there at the time.
The breach of the peace charge also alleges that McLeod repeatedly kicked the door, told police he had taken an overdose of medication and refused to allow officers access to the property.
He has denied placing Ms Mckenzie and the child in a state of fear and alarm by his actions.
A second charge alleges that on November 28, at the flat, he assaulted four police officers by brandishing a knife at them.
McLeod will stand trial on December 21, with a preliminary hearing set for December 10.
