Perth and Kinross Council launch family information directories

PERTH and Kinross Council has unveiled a new service to support families.

Developed as part of the Perth and Kinross Parenting Strategy, five Family Information Directories have been compiled, covering Crieff and Strathearn, Highland Perthshire, Blairgowrie and Strathmore, Kinross, Perth and surrounding areas.

Each directory includes details of local childcare and education services, leisure activities and family support provision, as well as services which cover the whole of Perth and Kinross, and national agencies and organisations.

The directories will be widely distributed with copies available through libraries and other community venues, and from the Childcare Information Service by calling 0845 601 4477.

Perth and Kinross Council Chief Executive, Bernadette Malone said: “Having information about the services and sources of support available locally can make a huge difference to parents in coping with the pressures of family life. The new directories co-ordinate this information for the first time and build on and enhance the beneficial support that the Childcare Information Service provides to local families.”
