Extended hours at Royal Mail

ROYAL Mail is extending the opening hours of its Callers’ Offices in Perthshire to help customers in the run up to Christmas.

It will give them extra time to collect letters, parcels and packets.

From Monday, December 14, until Christmas Eve, the normal hours will be extended to make it as convenient as possible for customers.

The Callers’ Offices will also be open later on Saturday, December 20 – see the table below for full details.

In the week leading up to Christmas, they will also be delivering in the evenings and on Sunday, December 20.

Customers can arrange re-delivery of their Christmas parcels to their home address, a neighbour's address or their local Post Office. And, for December only, customers can collect parcels from their local Post Office for free.

Royal Mail expect to deliver 155 million items in the UK ordered online in the run-up to Christmas and is making it easier for people to receive items they have ordered in time.

Paul Kelly, Royal Mail Operations Director in Scotland, said: “Our people always go the extra mile to deliver the best Christmas for our customers.

“This year, Royal Mail is prepared for its biggest online Christmas ever and we are going the extra mile to make our service as convenient for customers as possible.

“The majority of items ordered online are delivered first time.

“But for people who have to pick them up at Caller’s Offices, we are extending the opening hours to make it easier for customers who need to collect parcels or packets.”

The last posting dates are:

Monday, December 21, for 1st Class items; Friday, December 18, for 2nd Class items; Wednesday, December 23, for Special Delivery items; Friday, December 11, for airmail items to Western Europe.

The extended hours for local Callers’ Offices are: Monday, December 14-Friday, December 18, and Monday, December 21-Wednesday, December 23: Blairgowrie and Pitlochry – 6.30am-1pm; Crieff – 6.30am-5.30pm; Perth – 6.30am-7.30pm.

Saturday, December 19: Blairgowrie and Pitlochry – 6.30am-1pm; Crieff – 6.30am-3pm; Perth – 6.30am-5.30pm.

Christmas Eve: Blairgowrie and Pitlochry – 6.30am-1pm; Crieff – 6.30am-3pm; Perth – 6.30am-5pm.
