A handful of Perth and Kinross schools fall victim to the snow and ice

SCHOOLS across Perthshire are returning to normal today after days of full and partial closures.

Although the vast majority of schools reopened for the start of the new term on Tuesday, there were a few that fell victim to the weather.

Invergowrie Primary School closed their early primary sections due to flood damage from burst pipes, although the rest of the school remained open. Arngask Primary was also partially closed.

Perth’s Goodlyburn Primary was initially closed but reopened at 1pm, with Greenloaning choosing to close later in the day.

All departments at Breadalbane Community Campus were shut and didn’t reopen again until yesterday.

Also closed on Wednesday was Glenlyon Primary School.

The affected classes at Invergowrie are due to resume today.

Lifelong learning convener Liz Grant said: “The commitment of staff has made sure that our youngsters can continue their education as usual despite the severe weather.’’
