POLICE reminded drivers to proceed with caution as the big freeze continues.
Tayside Police’s Chief Inspector Sandy Bowman said clearing snow or ice from windscreens and lights and keeping tyres properly inflated are the top priorities.
“It’s always a good idea to have a clean, dry cloth in the car,” he said. “If your screen washers freeze up you may have to pull over to a safe place to rub the windscreen clear.
“Always drive with extreme care even if roads have been gritted.
“Reduce speeds, avoid sudden acceleration and braking and increase your stopping distances.”
Chief Insp. Bowman also urged drivers to monitor on-line travel bulletins.
