A FAMILY-run venture near Kinross is in contention for the inaugural Deli of the Year Award.
Loch Leven’s Larder is one of about 100 UK delicatessens to be nominated by customers for the national contest.
A shortlist of the top entries will be in the bag by June.
Loch Leven’s Larder boss Emma Niven said she and her team were “completely bowled over” by the unexpected nomination and were grateful to customers for the vote of confidence.
“It’s our fine foods, freshness and seasonality that makes our shop very special and we hope the judging panel of the awards recognises our passion and uniqueness,” she said.
“We bake all of our own speciality bread and stock a large selection of olives and cured meats, as well as selling delicious cheeses from around the UK and Europe.”
