PERTH’S Citizens Advice Bureau is to bid farewell to its traditional home this week.
On Friday, the organisation will move out of the New Row offices it has occupied for 36 years, ahead of completing a move to larger premises later this month.
Perth CAB manager Sandy Watts said the set up is being relocated to 7 Atholl Crescent to increase access to services.
“We get busier every year and the office in New Row just isn’t big enough any more,” he explained yesterday.
“The new premises have more interview rooms which will enable us to see more clients every day.
“The larger offices will also provide better facilities for our clients and for the volunteers and paid staff.
“Our only regret is that the new building is not accessible for wheelchairs although there is a stairlift for anyone who can’t manage the stairs.”
Mr Watt said CAB provides advice by telephone, letter, e-mail and via its website, with outreach surgeries available in Aberfeldy, Blairgowrie, Crieff, Kinross and Pitlochry.
For those unable to visit staff at the offices, home visits can also be arranged.
“We are very grateful to Perth and Kinross Council for their support with our relocation,” said Mr Watt.
“They have provided additional funding and advice to help us find suitable premises and to prepare for the move.
“We would also like to thank Citizens Advice Scotland who are helping to fund the increased running costs for the next five years.”
The New Row offices close on Friday, with the new premises expected to be open on Monday, March 15.
