RATTRAY Primary School pupils have launched a new school project with Royal Bank of Scotland.
The venture is part of the programme “School Money – the school bank from RBS”, which encourages teachers and pupils to operate a school back account.
It is just one element of the wider financial education scheme, Moneysense ,developed by the majority taxpayer -owned bank.
Pupils will learn how to operate a bank account and be given their own bank card and account number.
RBS Moneysense Manager Karen Fullarton said: “The pupils have shown great commitment in getting the bank organised so quickly and hopefully they’ll soon begin to reap the benefits through the practical experience it will provide.”
Moneysense has so far worked with over one million primary and secondary school pupils nationwide.
Teachers can access learning materials on the initiative and apply for an account for their school at the Moneysense section of the RBS website.
