Alarm cuts break-in short

CROOKS fled the scene empty-handed after they triggered a burglar alarm at Kinross’s Henderson Grass Machinery last Saturday.

A police spokesman said the would-be thieves could have been targeting heavy-duty industrial equipment, such as chain saws and ride-on mowers worth hundreds of pounds, which were “quite sought after” items.

Although the villains managed to force open a door – sometime between noon and 3.30pm – it is believed that they abandoned the job after triggering an alarm.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a suspicious vehicle or people in the vicinity of the Clashburn Road premises.
