THE Winter Olympics may be over but Perth and Kinross Council has got its hands on a gold medal.
The council scooped top honours, as well as two bronze awards, at the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) awards ceremony.
PKC’s north Perth community school team, which works with vulnerable families, earned top marks in the advancing community and citizen wellbeing category.
A recent upgrade of Dunning Primary School and work carried out to tackle health inequalities in the area were also recognised.
Council chief executive Bernadette Malone said: “I’m extremely proud of what has been achieved by everyone involved in these projects.
“These awards highlight that there is a great deal of day-to-day work being done by the council that makes a vital difference to our local communities.”
