Broadband joy for east Perthshire

EAST Perthshire villagers are taking part in a scheme designed to bring state-of-the-art digital technology to remote parts of Scotland.

The broadband exchange in Strathardle is one of 29 high-tech hubs offering an enhanced internet connection following a multi-million pound upgrade sanctioned by BT and the Scottish Government.

The rural service caters for about 250 homes and businesses in the area immediately surrounding Kirkmichael. Other upgrades are planned for Bridge of Balgie, Bridge of Gaur, Tummel Bridge, Amulree, Butterstone and Trochry in Highland Perthshire.
