BANKFOOT residents can have their say on a fledgling property development at a public meeting next week.
The consultation will be held on Tuesday in the local church centre from noon until 8pm, hosted by GS Brown Construction Ltd.
The company’s managing director Steve Brown said his firm have asked Perth and Kinross Council to include a vacant plot of land to the south of the village in the area’s local plan, which is soon to come under the scrutiny of the council.
The local plan contains detailed information on areas where development will be encouraged.
Mr Brown said the potential inclusion has the consent of local landowners, adding the St Madoes-based group are hosting the meeting “in the spirit of openness”.
“If the local authority agree to our proposal a planning application will be submitted at some point in the future,” he said.
“And at that time there will be a pre-application meeting and another consultation exercise with the local community.
“However, in a spirit of openness, we have decided to go beyond statutory requirements and hold this exhibition to let local people see the provisional boundaries of the proposal and the basic structure of the development.
“There will be an opportunity to speak to our consultants and make constructive comments.
“I hope as many people as possible take the opportunity to attend and make their views known.”
Details such as the size of the plot and the construction firm’s intentions for it will be divulged at next week’s meeting.
