Family jewels worth £5000 stolen from house

JEWELLERY valued at £5000 has been stolen from a Perth family’s home.

Intruders struck last Saturday when occupants of a Jeanfield Road house were out, sometime between 9.30am and 8.55pm.

A police spokesman said a selection of expensive trinkets was removed by crooks, including rings, necklaces and bracelets.

“We have no suspects as yet but are appealing to other residents or anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to contact us,” he said.

l Thieves who broke into a top-floor flat on Perth’s High Street emerged with their hands full.

Two laptop computers – a Dell Inspiron valued at £250 and a more expensive £400 HP model – were taken.

l Police are investigating the theft of a sat nav from a Ford Transit van parked in Tulloch’s Gillespie Crescent over the weekend.

The crime took place sometime between 12.30pm on Saturday and 2.20pm on Sunday.

l Crooks took advantage of last week’s thaw to swoop on a remote Kinross farm.

Thieves forced entry into a sub-station unit located in a field and stole an energiser machine powering an electric fence.

The crime took place at Lamb Hill Farm in Rumbling Bridge, sometime between 5pm last Thursday and 8am next day.
