Criticised monastery boss explains asset-selling decision

MANAGEMENT at St Mary’s Monastery this week outlined the financial struggle faced by the 150-year-old Redemptorist retreat.

The Catholic Church have been widely criticised for their decision to sell off a field bordering the landmark building at its picturesque setting on Perth’s Kinnoull Hill to fund vital repairs.

Monastery rector Father Gerry Mulligan fully understands the importance of St Mary’s natural green surroundings in ensuring its regular visitors appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the area while enjoying a relaxing break.
