Crieff man treated for head injury

A CRIEFF man in his mid 50s was treated for a serious head injury following a serious incident at the weekend.

The man, a victim of an alleged assault, is believed to have hit his head on a pavement and was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where he was kept overnight for observation.

A Tayside Police spokesman told the PA yesterday that investigating officers had sealed off an area at the town’s McNee Place in South Bridgend after 6pm on Saturday night.

He said a 15-year-old boy who knew the victim had been charged with assault, and that as a juvenile, various other agencies could now be involved in the proceedings.

The injured man, who was described as an unemployed local resident, is understood to be recovering.
