OCCUPANTS of a silver Ford Transit van could be prime suspects in a probe into a break-in at Bridge of Earn.
Police are say intruders forced entry at a Main Street house and helped themselves to a substantial haul, including two Samsung LCD televisions worth £1000.
Also taken was a ladies platinum gold ring and a gold necklace worth £600 and about £150 of US dollars and Euros.
None of the family members, a couple in their 50s and their grown-up children, were home at the time of the break-in between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Wednesday.
No witnesses have come forward but a Tayside Police spokesman said detectives were looking for the occupants of a silver Ford Transit van, seen in the area the same day.
“These door-to-door callers were doing the rounds in Bridge of Earn on Wednesday touting for work, offering services such as roof or guttering cleaning,” he said.
“It is possible that they were casing people’s homes. We would like to be able to eliminate these people from our investigation.”
