HELEN MacKinnon and Jennie Baillie from local charity PKAVS and organisers of the upcoming Charity Chicks in the City fundraiser at Perth’s Salutation Hotel on Sunday, May 15 (2-5pm), took time out from event planning to sample the PKAVS cocktail specially devised by the hotel’s Bar Manager.
The cocktail’s ingredients are a closely guarded secret, but guests attending the glitzy ladies event can be assured that it’s fruity, quirky and a little bit naughty, just like the girls of ‘Sex and the City’ who have inspired this fundraising afternoon of cocktails, canapés and indulgent treats.
Jennie Baillie from PKAVS said: “We’ve a fantastic girly afternoon in store with tasty goodies, demonstrations and makeovers where ladies can ‘perfect their pout,’ ‘scrub up for summer’ and be a ‘bronzed beach babe’. The boys are even getting involved with local man Neil Hartley from Perth volunteering himself for a sponsored leg wax. There will be stalls laden with products to treat the home and body including designer clothing, elegant jewellery, scrumptious handmade soaps, high quality kitchen equipment and beautiful candles.”
Tickets (£20) for the event, which include entry into a star prize draw, are on sale from PKAVS, The Gateway, North Methven Street, Perth and by calling Helen or Jennie on 01738 567076.
All funds raised will support PKAVS diverse charitable activities helping over 5,000 local people to enjoy a better quality of life every year. This includes the elderly, adults with mental ill health or mobility problems, and the hundreds of young and adult unpaid carers who look after loved ones.
Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS) is a registered Scottish charity (SC 005561) and supports the community of Perth & Kinross through services in the areas of Youth, Carers, Community Initiatives and Community Engagement.
