THE Perth Bike Station will, for one Saturday only, be bringing its weekly Bike Sale to the Highland Perthshire Cycling Festival BIG Day in Aberfeldy on Saturday, May 14.
Between 11am and 4pm next Saturday, refurbished children’s bicycles will be on sale in Victoria Park, Aberfeldy, instead of the Bike Station’s premises in Perth.
In addition, Dr Bike will be on hand to carry out bike health checks and make minor repairs for cyclists. Through children’s bike maintenance sessions, youngsters will have the chance to master the basics of looking after their bicycles. Unwanted bikes, bike parts or accessories can also be donated at the event for reuse or recycling by The Bike Station.
Emma Burtles, one of the organisers of the Highland Perthshire Cycling Festival said: “The BIG Day is a fun, family day with activities and events for everyone.
“It is the highlight of a month-long festival of cycling across Highland Perthshire.”
Other attractions include Scottish stunt team The Clan, and there will be lots of races, try-outs, funny bikes, a treasure hunt and ‘fancy dress bikes’.
The BIG Day event is free to attend but donations are welcome. Anyone travelling by car is asked to use the car parks behind the garage and the Breadalbane Hotel in the centre of Aberfeldy, to help keep the roads around Victoria Park free of parked cars.
