WITH the T in the Park clean-up operation finally at an end, organiser Geoff Ellis has labelled this year’s festival “the best ever”.
Speaking to the PA yesterday, the DF Concerts chief executive praised both artists and music-fans for playing their part in ensuring a good time was had by all.
He said: “Definitely from my perspective, it was the best T in the Park ever.
“It was just a fantastic event and the artists performing were stunning.
“Foo Fighters, Beyonce, Coldplay, Swedish House Mafia and Tom Jones in particular were absolutely brilliant.”
He continued: “Fair play to the audience looking after themselves and each other. There was a real camaraderie on site.
“I’ve always said the T in the Park audience is special but they’ve shown that this year more than normal.
“But that’s not to say it was a subdued crowd.
“Everyone partied hard and went wild in front of the stages. There was a very, very good spirit.”
Mr Ellis also took the opportunity to point out crime at this year’s festival was lower than the previous two years with only 53 arrests across the whole weekend.
As the site is set to be fully cleared within the next week, Mr Ellis revealed he has only one gripe with campers.
He complained: “It does take a while to clear up but I wish campers wouldn’t leave so many tents.
“If you’re going to leave them here then why not hire them? It’s really frustrating.”
Setting his sights on next year, Mr Ellis promised T in the Park would be back better than ever.
He added: “Each year we try to improve the event but you will never get perfection.
“A lot of it is down to subjective opinion. For instance, someone might say, ‘I preferred this year’s lineup compared to the last’ but another might disagree.”
“All we can do is keep delivering the best lineup we can.”
