Fruit Exchange in Coupar Angus

“DON’T let your apples and pears go to waste,” is the advice from Jill Davies, project officer of Coupar Angus Regeneration Trust.

“Swap them for plums!” – That's the offer available to visitors to the Elegant Windows charity shop in the High Street, Coupar Angus, until tomorrow.

“We have a pear tree and recent winds have blown small fruit off the tree. There is far too much for us and Pop and Candy, the guinea pigs, to eat,” said Jill.

“Our neighbour gave us all their fallen apples so now we have too much.”

The Fruit Exchange allows people to bring in their harvest of fallen fruit and exchange them for what ever is available in store.

Some will be suitable for baking, chutneys, wine making and feeding furry friends. If you haven't got any fruit to bring in and would like some, a donation towards the town map and guide is requested.

The Fruit Exchange is part of a fund raising effort by CART to print the Coupar Angus town map, last printed in 1984 by the Community Council.

The content of the publication has been generated by the community, this initiative and charity shop will pay for printing.
