MOTORISTS are being warned not to park vehicles on Crieff’s King Street tomorrow – or face potential consequences.
A team led by TV personality Griff Rhys Jones filming a BBC documentary about 18th Century drovers’ routes from Skye to Crieff, will be herding four Highland cows and two ponies through the town.
The drove will wind its way from Market Park, up King Street to James Square between 12.30pm and 10pm.
Police are advising King Street residents to park their cars elsewhere during these times and officers will be placing no waiting cones along the route.
Community Sgt Sandra Williams said there was potential for damage to vehicles, particularly from the large-horned cattle.
Stevie Whiteford, the film team’s assistant producer, added: “The animals will be under the control of trained handlers at all times.
“We have considered all the potential risks involved in these activities and we’re confident that we have the correct people and procedures in place to ensure that there is no danger to the public.”
After James Square, the crew – with animals – will head for Comrie Croft for a ceilidh.
