Lang Toon perv still at large

A PERVERT who propositioned a lone female pedestrian in Auchterarder last Friday night is still at large.

The encounter, which took place on High Street around 10pm, left the 46-year-old victim distressed and upset.

Following a dinner date with friends, the woman had been walking home alone when suddenly confronted by the lecherous offender.

A Tayside Police spokesman said the man lost interest and walked off after the shocked victim explained that she was en route to meet her partner.

“After he had gone she immediately used her mobile phone to call her partner and told him what had happened,” he said.

“He came straight down to meet her and had a look around for the offender before they reported it to police.

“This was an unusual incident, which could well have been drink-fuelled or something more sinister.”

Police are particularly keen to speak to a group of youths the victim had seen in the vicinity of 54-56 High Street – the presently vacant Davidsons Chemist shopfront – minutes before the incident.

“She walked past a group of maybe six males and females just before the offender stopped her,” he said.

“We believe that they may have seen the culprit.”

The spokesman said the perpetrator had short dark brown hair, a foreign accent and was “of European appearance” with an olive complexion.

Described as about 5 ft 8”, the man was wearing a dark round-neck T-shirt and light-coloured trousers.
