HETTIE’S Tearoom in Pitlochry has jumped into the Autumn Festival spirit with a bright, tree-lined frontage, extended hours and a programme of enchanted tales and storytelling.
It hopes to raise funds for chosen charity PKAVS through entertaining visitors and locals and feeding hot food to the cold masses.
Hettie’s Enchanted Tearoom – as it’s to be known for the next month – will bring to life tales of local folklore and myth with good old fashioned storytelling.
And in a bid to raise additional funds for PKAVS, they’ve even written a book!
Faerie Vrackie and The Magic Cake Crumbs has been created just for the event and will be read out every night until October 29 at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.
The storytelling is free to everyone with an optional donation to PKAVS.
And if you find that you fall in love with their gorgeous Highland Faerie, you can buy a mini version of the beautifully-illustrated book; the full £3.50 price of the book will be donated to PKAVS as all of those involved in getting it to print have donated their time and efforts.
Written by Nicola Martin of Hettie’s, illustrated by Anna Ford of Atholl’s Web and laid out and printed by Gary Paterson of T’Go Creative, the faerie story tells the tale of how a little band of Highland Perthshire Faeries saved the explorer’s garden … all with help of some magic cake crumbs.
Nicola told the PA: “We’ve had so much fun creating Faerie Vrackie. She’s a gorgeous addition to the Hettie’s Team and we can’t wait to introduce her to everyone.
“We are very grateful to Gary and Anna for donating their time and materials – it means that we can sell the book with all the funds going straight to PKAVS.”
