HEARTLESS crooks have stolen jewellery from the Perth home of a woman in her eighties.
Although it is too early to provide an estimate of the haul’s value, it is understood a large quantity of jewellery, as well as a slim-line television, was taken from the terraced Letham house.
Police believe it is possible that thieves may have known that the OAP, who was away visiting family members, was not home at her Fortingall Place property at the time.
A Tayside Police spokesman said the unknown intruders forced entry sometime between 2pm last Saturday and 11am on Sunday.
“The break-in was discovered by a neighbour who had been keeping an eye on the house for the elderly woman while she was away staying with family,” he said.
“We’d like to hear from anyone who may seen or heard anything suspicious.”
