RESIDENTS in Perthshire’s conservation areas are being warned that building regulations are set to change.
From February 6, new national rules will come into force that mean most types of alterations and extensions to properties in protected places will need planning permission.
The new regulations will cover all extensions, installation of replacement windows and doors, satellite dishes, rooflights and solar panels.
The Perthshire and Kinross areas have 35 conservation areas including Abernethy, Aberfeldy, Baledgarno, Birnam, Cleish, Comrie, Coupar Angus, Crieff, Grandtully and Strathtay, Kinnoull, Pitcairngreen, Pitlochry and Wester Balgedie.
