The only showroom in the UK to offer ‘next generation’ infrared home heating systems has opened in Perth.
A new spacious showroom will offer consumers the chance to see Direct Savings’ infranomics heater. The Scottish energy efficiency firm plans to create 20 new jobs and has invested £100,00 in the showroom in Arran Road.
The company is pursuing new business in the heating sector after making its name offering insulation.
John Swinney, Scottish Finance Secretary and MSP for Perthshire North, was at the showroom opening yesterday. He said: “Direct Savings decision to locate here in Perth is excellent news both for our local economy and this dynamic and growing Scottish business.
“I very much welcome this exciting development for Perth as another new company sets up here seeking to fill sales, administrative and installation roles.”
Husband and wife team Ged and Eileen Smith founded Livingston-based Direct Savings in 2010 from a garden shed. The company has an annual turnover of £12 million.
Managing director Ged Smith said: “Our vision now is to establish Direct Savings as the market leader in providing energy efficient solutions. Big plans like these require additional space and increased staff support, which is why this is the ideal time to invest in new premises in Perth.”
The infranomics systems have been developed using cutting-edge German technology. They work on infrared light, providing highly energy efficient heating.
