Linkline is up and running

LINKLINE, the new NHS Tayside dental emergency telephone service for patients, went live yesterday (Monday).

Linkline is NHS Tayside’s first dedicated helpline and one-stop point of contact for emergency dental treatment.

The new service will provide information forpatients who are not currently registered with an NHS dentist but require access to one.

Members of the public who are not registered with an NHS dentist and require emergency treatment will be able to call Linkline on 01382 596982.

This service will operate daily Monday to Friday, from 8.30am-5.30pm.

To arrange an emergency appointment, patients should call Linkline at 8.30am or as soon as possible after that.

This new service aims to make it easier for patients to access emergency treatment should they require it.

Staff will arrange for patients who are in pain and require emergency dental treatment to be seen by a dentist at an NHS Tayside dental facility either in Angus, Dundee or Perth.

During the evening and overnight, between 5.30pm and 8.30am, patients with a dental emergency should contact NHS24 on 08454 242424.

Morag Curnow, Clinical Dental Director with NHS Tayside’s Community Dental Service, said yesterday: “The new telephone service Linkline will give people information on how to access NHS emergency dental care across Tayside.”
