THE East Perthshire village of Alyth has been named as a finalist in the North category of the Scottish Calor Village of the Year awards 2008.
Organised by Calor, the awards provide Scotland’s rural communities with a population of 5000 and under, with the opportunity to gain recognition and reward for their achievements.
A cash prize of £1000 for community investment will be awarded to each of the regional winners with an additional prize of £3000 for the overall Scottish winner.
