A FORMER Scone man went on the rampage with a baseball bat in the family home.
Nicholas Geraghty (35), now of Lundies Walk, Auchterarder, went from room to room of the house he shared with his partner in Scone in June of last year, smashing ornaments and pictures with the bat.
Perth Sheriff Court heard Geraghty returned to the house in August after discovering his partner was seeing someone he knew.
He shouted and swore at her and ripped a telephone cable from the wall.
He pled guilty to committing a breach of the peace in the house on June 17 last year.
Geraghty also admitted conducting himself in a disorderly manner in the house on August 16.
Solicitor Jamie Morris said the June incident resulted in them separating but they were able to work out their differences.
His partner, however, became involved with another party.
“The frustration he felt at their relationship boiled over and he lost his temper,” added Mr Morris.
Geraghty was given 240 hours community service, put on two years’ probation and ordered to attend the Change domestic abuse programme.
