Motorcyclist airlifted to Ninewells Hospital

A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital after an accident on a Big County road left him with serious injuries at the weekend.

A pair of motorbikes collided shortly before 3pm on Sunday afternoon on the A822 Crieff to Amulree road.

One of the men was taken by helicopter to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital and underwent surgery for serious injuries to his ankle and his leg.

A second man was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary by ambulance and treated for less serious injuries.

The road, which runs from Crieff to Amulree, was closed following the incident.

A spokesperson for Tayside Police confirmed that an investigation into the cause of the accident was still ongoing.
