New school consultation

PERTH and Kinross Council will be holding public meetings tomorrow as part of a consultation on the catchment areas for three Perth primary schools.

A new nursery and primary school are currently being built on Glenearn Road as part of the council’s Investment in Learning Programme. Inch View Nursery and Primary School will replace Caledonian Road Primary School and Friarton Nursery once it opens in October, 2009. The new school will be located close to Craigie and Moncreiffe Primary Schools.

The council’s Lifelong Learning Committee agreed in January, 2008, that statutory consultations should be carried out to review and determine the catchment areas for Craigie, Moncreiffe and Inch View.

The public meetings will be held in the Grampian Hotel, York Place, Perth, tomorrow, between 10am and noon, and from 7-9pm.

The meetings will be chaired by senior officials from Education and Children’s Services and will provide an opportunity for parents, carers and members of the public generally to find out more about the consultation and ask questions.
