Market is a class act

FULL marks go to P4/5 pupils at the Royal School of Dunkeld for a class project which will benefit the community, the environment and Perthshire businesses.

On Thursday, the class and parent helpers will be setting up stalls for a Farmers’ Market to sell local produce to local people between 2.30pm and 7pm.

This enterprising project has arisen from the pupils’ concerns for the environment. One of its aims is to reduce ‘food miles.’

The 23 P4/5 pupils and their class teacher Mrs Ramsay have been pleased with the interest shown in their venture by local businesses and they are expecting to offer visitors a wide choice of produce on some 20 stalls. They are also planning a cookery demonstration.
