Kilgraston hold prize ceremony

KILGRASTON School, Bridge of Earn, held its annual Distribution of Ribbons and Prizes Ceremony at the school.

The guest speaker was adventurer and writer Karen Darke, an extraordinary human being and a women who has touched many lives.

A keen runner and mountaineer, she was paralysed in a traumatic rock-climbing accident at the age of 21.

That forms the opening chapter of her best-selling book, “If You Fall.”

The tragedy, however, marked the beginning of an extraordinary life. Over the past decade she has overcome many physical and mental challenges and completing many trips others believed impossible.

They have included marathons to triathlons, to kayaking and hand cycling in some of the most inhospitable places on the planet.
