Horror crash at Gilmerton

INVESTIGATIONS into a near fatal crash on the A85 were continuing yesterday.

Two men were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee – one by air ambulance – after the horror collision just outside Gilmerton on Friday morning.

A man driving a Volkswagen Passat was taken by ambulance to Dundee with leg injuries. Neither of the unnamed pair was said to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed within minutes of the 6.45am horror smash to allow crash investigators to examine the scene, with diversions put in place at Highlandman Loan and Fowlis Wester.

Members of Tayside Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene from 7am until just after 9am.
