School set to expand

CHILDREN at a Strathearn school could be set to get more space after moves to add a classroom were revealed.

Perth and Kinross Council hopes to place a pair of huts in the grounds of Methven Primary School in an effort to provide three extra classrooms.

Also included in the plan is the creation of a covered play area within the existing playground.

In the local authority’s executive director of education and children’s services’ application, he reported: “It is the council’s intention to locate these units at Methven as part of forward planning strategies.”

The application is now in the hands of the council’s planners and a decision is expected in due course.
