Pupils get taste of Berries

LOCAL author and story-teller Jess Smith launched her new book, Sookin’ Berries, with a series of readings at Our Lady’s Primary School in Perth.

P6 and 7 pupils listened to Jess reading from her collection of short stories aimed at younger readers.

Crieff-based author Jess was raised in a large family of Scottish travellers and she has nurtured her skill as a traditional storyteller, making her in demand for live performances all over Scotland.

Her other published work includes her autobiographical trilogy, Jessie’s Journey.

Sookin’ Berries is published by Birlinn.
