IT bug hits Perth school

PERTH and Kinross Council is working to repair computer systems affected by a virus at Perth Grammar School.

During this work, some key services at the school have been taken off line.

While the work is being carried out, the School and Child Care Strategy Team has no access to e-mail and telephones.

Contingency plans agreed between the council, the school and the Scottish Qualification Authority are already in place to ensure that this virus will have minimum impact on the delivery of SQA exams to PGS pupils.

No pupil will be prevented from sitting an exam on the timetabled date as a result of this issue.

Pupils due to sit exams for which access to a computer is required will be contacted by the school before their exam date if their exam venue is being changed.

Efforts are being made to maintain access via the main school telephone line and anyone trying to reach anyone at Perth Grammar is encouraged to use this as their first point of contact.

The number to call is 01738 620071.
