Liberal Democrats praise Perth’s Fairview School

POLITICIANS yesterday heaped praise on work carried out by Perth teaching staff.

Liberal Democrat education spokesman Hugh O’Donnell MSP joined councillors Peter Barrett and Willie Wilson on a visit to the recently-established Fairview School in Oakbank Crescent.

They met with headteacher Coral Bell, as well as other staff and pupils.

The £6.5m school, located on the Perth Academy and Viewlands Primary campus, caters for 57 children and young people with additional support needs.

Mr O’Donnell said “Perth and Kinross Council should be commended for providing such an excellent centre.

“The level of support provided is tremendous, from the nursery upwards.”

Parliamentary candidate Cllr Barrett said: “I was particularly impressed by the specialist facilities, including the dedicated music and art room, gym hall, life skills room, learning resource centre and quiet rooms.

“The warm water pool and automatic skylight were particular highlights.”
