313 drivers caught using mobiles

More than 300 drivers were caught using their hand-held mobile phone during a 24-hour crackdown by police.

Officers across Scotland were involved in Wednesday's campaign which caught 313 offenders - a drop of just 11 from a previous action day in February.

Police chiefs said they were disappointed that so many people continue to flout the law despite stiffer penalties.
