Hacker loses extradition appeal

A computer expert who hacked into top secret US military networks has lost his last-ditch legal appeal and will be extradited to the US in the next two weeks.

Gary McKinnon, 42, originally from Glasgow, asked the European Court of Human Rights to stay his extradition pending an appeal to the court but his application was refused.

Karen Todner, from Kaim Todner solicitors, said her client was "distraught" about the decision and appealed to Home Secretary Jacqui Smith to intervene.
