Number of strokes reduced

Fewer people in Scotland under the age of 75 are dying from strokes, according to new NHS figures.

In the past year there were 6% fewer deaths from cerebrovascular disease, which sees a downward trend continue.

The NHS said reducing the number of strokes is a priority in Scotland because of the prevalence of associated risks, such as smoking and poor diet.
