Local income tax plan to go ahead

Business leaders unhappy at the prospect of a local income tax have been told the Scottish Government will press ahead.

After meeting six business organisations Edinburgh, finance secretary John Swinney said the Government's commitment to a local income tax remained "firm".

The meeting came after clashes between Alex Salmond and Labour leader Iain Gray at First Minister's Questions in Holyrood.
