BMA fears over junior doctor laws

Scotland's health boards are running out of time to comply with new rules on working hours for junior doctors, it was warned.

Nearly half of Scotland's doctors are still employed on rotas that exceed the 48 hours a week limit that will come into force next August, said the British Medical Association (BMA).

The association said it was "concerned" that health boards were not yet ready for the European Working Time directive and urged them to act now.
